The Audi e-tron family is about to get a little bigger. Joining the popular e-tron midsize SUV and Sportback models, the all-new Q4 e-tron represents the automaker's next step toward its goal of a 30-percent electrified U.S. lineup by 2025. Audi hasn't provided an exact launch date and has kept quiet regarding specifics. However, what we do know is the Q4 e-tron is a compact crossover that promises engaging driving dynamics and plenty of versatility. Here's a quick look at some of the known details.
- Plenty of Power: The Q4 e-tron finds motivation in an 82-kWh battery pack matched with a pair of electric motors. The 301-horsepower powerplant moves the Q4 from 0 to 62 mph in just 6.3 seconds.
- Say Goodbye to Range Anxiety: The Q4 e-tron will be able to travel an Audi-estimated 280 miles or more. Enough for a full week of emissions-free commuting. And with a 125-kW fast charger, the battery can be filled up to 80 percent in just half an hour.
- e-tron Design: With just one look at the chiseled bumpers, unique 22-inch wheel design, and Singleframe grille, it's easy to see the Q4 is unquestionably part of the e-tron family. The Solar Sky blue body paint is particularly interesting, as it changes hue with varying light angles. It was developed specifically for the Q4 e-tron to reflect a portion of the sun's rays, reducing surface heat build-up. In addition to a more accommodating cabin, it also lowers the energy needed for the air conditioning, improving the Q4's range.
